Light Layout Pro is an iPhone app for electricians working on remodel, retrofit, and new-construction recessed-can layouts. You measure the room and the framing, enter what you found, and the app spaces the fixtures you specify and shows where a can would land on a joist or truss.

Full-room fixture plans from room length and width, target fixture count, framing direction, first framing line, on-center spacing, can diameter, and a safety buffer. Compare centered single-row, multi-row, and grid patterns; review modeled fixture-to-framing conflicts, spacing, clearances, and wall measurements; fine-tune spread and whole-layout shift while the diagram and measurements update together.
Hallway / Linear Free
One centered row through a corridor or other straight run, starting from a measured first offset. Compare alternate offsets and nearby fixture counts with Auto Fit, then review each fixture position before transferring measurements to the ceiling.
Bend Calculator Free
Offsets and three-point saddles solved with plain bend geometry. Results are geometry only — verify against your bender's take-up chart.
Field Reference Free
The layout method the app uses, bend multipliers, Ohm's law, and common trade conversions, one tap away.

What it does not do
Light Layout Pro does not scan for or detect concealed framing. Layout results model only the room, framing, fixture, and safety-buffer measurements you enter, so a clear modeled result does not confirm hidden conditions. Verify framing, piping, ductwork, wiring, manufacturer clearances, plans, job specifications, and the requirements adopted in your jurisdiction before installation.
Fixture count is your input, not a recommendation — the app spaces the cans you specify and does not calculate light levels.
Privacy
Every calculation runs on your device. There is no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and the app collects no personal information. Your rooms, framing measurements, and layouts never leave your device unless you choose to share them. See the privacy policy.
